5GN Melbourne Data Centre (MDC/M1)

5GN’s Melbourne Data Centre sits on Level 15 of 530 Collins Street – the former Australian Stock Exchange building – right in Melbourne’s CBD. It’s a true Tier 3, N+2 facility, making it a strong choice for businesses that need resilient colocation within walking distance of their offices.

• Tier 3, N+2 design – an extra layer of redundancy beyond N+1, so critical systems stay online even during simultaneous maintenance and failure events.
• 2MW of dedicated power – approximately 1,600 sqm with capacity for around 330 racks, offering 3–10kVA single-phase per rack as standard, with three-phase and bespoke electrical options available.
• Security and compliance – 24/7 onsite security and ISO accreditation protect your equipment and data.
• Rich interconnection – present on Melbourne’s major internet exchanges (VIX and Megaport MegaIX), with on-demand cloud access and on-net links to 5GN’s other national data centres.

530 Collins Street is a multi-tenant connectivity hub, home to several carriers and data centre operators within the same building. Nexthop’s dark fibre gives MDC a dedicated, low-latency path to your premises and other Melbourne facilities, so you can scale bandwidth on your own terms.
