David Brown - Group Technical Director

With more than two decades of hands-on technical experience, David is the engineering backbone behind Nexthop’s network vision. Beginning his career in IT support at the University of Sydney, he quickly developed a reputation for solving complex problems, building reliable systems, and delivering technology that simply works.

As Technical Director at Anticlockwise since 2004, David has spent over 20 years architecting infrastructure, guiding technology strategy, and supporting thousands of end users across a diverse range of environments. His breadth of experience—spanning networking, systems, and operational design—has shaped his pragmatic, solutions-first approach.

At Nexthop, David plays a pivotal role in designing, building, and evolving the dark fibre network the company owns and operates. He ensures that every part of the infrastructure meets the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. His deep technical expertise underpins Nexthop’s ability to deliver tailored solutions to carriers, ISPs, MSPs, enterprise customers, cloud providers, and internet exchanges Australia-wide.
