Michael Lim - Group MD

Working in technical roles in IT firms, senior sales roles in Asia Netcom, Pacnet and Optus, and as a senior executive in Nexthop, Michael has 20 years’ technology business experience. Michael joined David in the Nexthop group in 2013 to help establish it as a telecommunications provider, growing from 2 business clients to over 250 business clients within the first 4 years.

Nexthop was born from a shared vision between Michael and co-founder Dave: to bring reliable, predictable access to fibre infrastructure across the Sydney CBD. What began as a simple mission—to build the products they wished existed—has grown into one of Australia’s most trusted wholesale dark fibre providers.

Passionate about reshaping how service providers and partners collaborate, Michael sees the industry at an inflection point—and is committed to leading Nexthop toward a better, more transparent future.
